The AHL Amerks is the breeding ground for future Buffalo Sabres players and now more than ever is it important for them to hone the skills of their young players. Rochester (9-11-1) is currently third in the North Division of the Western Conference, 11 points out of first place. The idea was to have the young Sabre prospects gain some available experience in the AHL and hopefully grow in a playoff run. They need to improve in some areas to get in playoff position. The leading scorer for Rochester is Phil Varone who is tied for second in the league at 22 points (6 goals, 16 Assists). Varone is followed by Luke Adam with 19 points but both are minus players (-4 for Varone, -8 for Adam). Adam and Mikhail Grigorenko are tied for the team lead ...
