Zemgus Girgensons faces an interesting dilemma.

The Buffalo Sabres second first round draft pick of 2012, due to playing in the USHL, can either stick with his commitment to play at the University of Vermont, or begin his professional career at age 18 with the Rochester Americans.

The question has been asked countless times since the draft, and now the time has come that Girgensons will really begin to decide his playing future.

"We'll see about that tomorrow; what I decide," said Girgensons. "I'll try and decide tomorrow." He said he wasn't sure if he'll meet with Lindy Ruff and Darcy Regier tomorrow about the situation.

Regier said he plans on talking with him.

"We'll talk to him about his desire to turn pro," he said "Really it has to be his decision."

The highest drafted Latvian ever, Girgensons looked like a man among boys this week at the prospect camp, literally and figuratively. He seemed to grasp what the coaches wanted quicker than most of the first-timers, and he used his strength to his advantage from day one, pushing players around at will. Ruff even said that Girgensons already has "a man body" at such a young age.

"For a guy that has got the build he's got, I think he's physically ready," said Ruff on Girgensons turning pro. "He's strong enough to handle the heavy bodies down there. I think he likes to hit, he likes to play a physical game."

The choice for Girgensons isn't going to be an easy one, but it's one that he says will be made based on what he feels is the right thing to do.

"Depends on me and how I feel," Girgensons said. "It's just more on me. Where my head and my heart says to go."
