Abby Wambach returns to Rochester

Abby Wambach is back in Rochester playing with magicJack's Washington Freedom tonight at Sahlen's Stadium against the WNY Flash.

Word is 6,000 tickets were presold for tonight's game where the weather has cleared and the sun is shining for the 7 p.m. start.

The Flash are atop the standings at 4-0-1 (13 points), while magicJack is right behind at 3-0-0 (8 points).

Wambach will need to outscore both Marta and Christine Sinclair of the Flash for magicJack to come away with a win.

Marta has won FIFA Player of the Year the last five years and was runnerup in 2005. SInclair leads the Flash with four goals. Marta has two.

U.S. Women's National Team goaltender Hope Solo is also in the starting lineup for magicJack.
 
1-0 Flash in 2nd minute.
Marta sent on breakaway, but Solo comes up big. Sinclair sends rebound off the crossbar. Becky Edwards finishes play off with her first goal in a Flash uniform.
Flash outshooting magicJack 5-0 through six minutes.
 
12th minute: Candace Chapman beat Wambach to a loose ball in the box after Ella Masar missed a diving header. It was Wambacj's first significant action in the game.
 
17th minute: Solo comes up big on Alex Morgan from 15 yards out.
"Abby Wambach" chant begins in behind the Flash's net.
 
19th minute: Solo coming up big for magicJack, making a couple of point-blank saves. Shots 8-3 in favor of Flash.
 
28th minute: Christen Press sends Masar in tight to Ashlyn Harris for a great chance. Harris answers with a diving save with her left hand. Shots 8-4 in favor of Flash. Harris has 4 saves, Solo has 2.
 
34th minute: Flash's McCall Zerboni sandwiched between Harris and Masar in the box, comes off under her own power.
 
35th minute: Zerboni comes right back in to the crowd's delight.
 
37th minute: Harris robs Masar inside the box again. Harris wouldn't be denied a try on a ball floated into the box from the right and got off a great scoring chance.
 
41st min: Caroline Seger shoots between Meghan Schnur's legs and catches Solo completely off guard. Flash up 2-0.
END OF 1ST HALF. Flash lead 2-0.
Flash lead shots 9-6. Each keeper has four saves.
Wambach has been held in check, but started to find some room late in the first half.
After an early surge from the Flash, the magicJack took control and had the majority of chances down the stretch.
 
2nd HALF
Meghan Klingenberg subs in for Meghan Schnur for the magicJack.
53rd minute: Nicole Marshall subs in for Christen Press.
59th minute: Sinclair rips a half-volley from edge of the box that Solo punches away.
63rd minute: Yael Averbuch subs in for BEcky Edwards for the Flash.
No one wants to gain control of the play through the first half of the 2nd half. Pretty back and forth action.
68th minute: Lisa DeVanna subs in for Rebecca Moros for the magicJack. Brittany Bock receives a yellow card.
70th minute: Gamma Davis subs in for Alex Morgan for the Flash.
Attendance announced as 8,076 tonight.
81st minute: Down to the final 10 minutes. Flash still denying magicJack that final pass to create a Grade A scoring chance.
Harris makes another save, not to testy, though.
83rd minute: Tina Ellertson and Wambach combine to give Masar a good look, but shot goes high over the bar.
84th minute: Marta taken down in the box, awarded a penalty kick. Ellertson takes Marta down, awarded a yellow card. Marta stays on the ground, clutching at her right ankle and hobbles off with the help of the trainer.
86th minute: Seger finds the leftside netting on the PK for her second of the game and gives the Flash a 3-0 lead.
89th minute: Beverly Goebel subs in for Brittany  Bock for the Flash.
FINAL: Flash win 3-0, r emain unbeaten.
