Congratulations to Buffalo Bisons manager Marty Brown who earned his 300th victory as manager of the Bisons Saturday as the Herd defeated the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, 6-2, at PNC Field.
Brown, who managed the Bisons to three straight winning records from 2003-2005, becomes the first manager to win 300 games in the club’s modern era. His 300 wins are the seventh most in the 128-year history of professional baseball in Buffalo.

Another big name Toronto Blue Jays player is heading to Buffalo for a little rehab. Pitcher J.A. Happ is scheduled to make his next MLB injury rehabilitation start with the Buffalo Bisons on Tuesday, July 23, against the Columbus Clippers at 7:05 p.m.

Instead of Where's Waldo we are going to play a game it seems we play every offseason the last couple of years: Where is Dwight Howard going next?

The Buffalo Bisons announced this week that the radio home for Toronto Blue Jays baseball, Sportsnet 590 The Fan, will carry the live broadcast of eight Buffalo Bisons games this summer.
The simulcast schedule will begin on Monday, July 1 as the Bisons, the Triple-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, face the Charlotte Knights at 7:15 p.m.

Another fan favorite is returning to Coca-Cola Field as the Buffalo Bisons announced the return of Alfred State Movie Night with a free showing of “Monsters, Inc.” on the BisonsTV HD Scoreboard. The event will take place at 7 p.m. Friday, July 5.

This is the third consecutive year the Bisons will welcome families and fans to the ballpark for a free moving showing on the Coca-Cola Field scoreboard. There is no admission charge and fans can either sit on the first base side seating area or bring a blanket and sit on the field to watch the movie.

Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Jose Reyes will join the Buffalo Bisons on Friday, June 21 as part of his Major League injury rehab assignment. Reyes is scheduled to play three games with the Bisons, Friday, June 21 through Sunday, June 23.

The Bisons host the Durham Bulls on Friday with a 7:05 p.m. first pitch. Saturday is the team’s annual Star Wars Night at 6:05 p.m. while Sunday’s contest is a Busters Kids Club Sunday afternoon game with a 1:05 p.m. first pitch.

Now that the warmer months are upon us, “Play ball” is being heard at baseball parks across North America. And if you just can’t get enough of America’s favorite pastime, you may want to head north of the border for very special baseball event taking place on June 28 in nearby London, Ontario.

Have you ever wanted to ask a particular player a question but didn't have access to him? Curious about why a coach made a particular decision. Wondering where the nets go after the game?

Let Sports & Leisure be your eyes, ears and mouth during our continued coverage of the Stanley Cup Finals.

Game one of the Stanley Cup Finals started in Chicago at 7:22pm with raucous applause and ended the same way over four and half hours later as Andrew Shaw pushed a double deflection past Tuukka Rask in the third overtime. As cheers of "Let's go Hawks!" turned into "Let's go Home!," this Buffalo boy was not sad to see a very good Bruins team dispatched in such dramatic fashion. It may not make up for the 1999 Finals, the second longest game in Stanley Cup history, but this game was one for the ages and indicative of how closely matched these two teams are.

The Buffalo Bisons and Entercom Radio announced last week that WGR SportsRadio 550 AM will carry the live broadcast of 10 Buffalo Bisons games this season. The 10-game schedule will include select Saturday games during the 2013 season.

The 10-game schedule began on Saturday, June 1. WGR will air four consecutive Saturday games, June 1-22 and then six more Saturday games, July 13 through Aug. 17.

Applications are still being accepted for the “Love Everybody 5K Walk/Run” taking place on Saturday, June 15, at Northwood Elementary School, 250 Northwood Ave., West Seneca. The event is being held in memory of Devin Miller, a sixth grade student at Northwood and an avid runner who lost his life in December 2012 after being struck by a car.

The MLB draft this year will start Thurs.,June 6, when the first 2 rounds are held. The next day rounds 3 thru 10 will be held. On Sat., rounds 11 thru 40 will be held. Here is some data from Baseball Amer. on only the top national and WNY draft prospects. Historically, some 45-55% of the draftees come from California, Florida and Texas, so we have identified the general numbers by position and these 3 States. Baseball Amer. selected the top 194 draft prospects for 10 positions, catchers, first basemen, second basemen, etc.

The Toronto Blue Jays today announced that they have recalled outfielder Anthony Gose from the Buffalo Bisons. To make room, RHP Mickey Storey has been optioned to Buffalo.

Gose has played in a team-high 40 games for the Bisons this year and has hit .227 (35-154) with five doubles, two triples, two home runs and 12 RBI. His 36 runs scored are six more than any player in the International League and he has five stolen bases in nine attempts. One of those stolen bases was a straight steal of home on May 7 against the Norfolk Tides.

The Buffalo Bisons defeated the Syracuse Chiefs by a 27-9 score on Thursday afternoon from NBT Bank Stadium in Syracuse. Here is a list of the team record that fell as part of the victory.

• Most Runs in a Game, Modern Era (27) – Breaks the old record of 25, set in a 25-13 win in Rochester on April 29, 2004.

An exhibition hockey game featuring members of the Buffalo Sabres Alumni Association will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 21 at Holiday Twin Rinks, 3465 Broadway, Cheektowaga. The Sabres alumni will be taking on a Colvin Cleaners team made up of employees of the company and Western New York hockey players who made a charitable donation to participate. Proceeds from the game will benefit Paradise House, a transitional living program for women in Buffalo.

The rain may have washed today's Buffalo Bisons game off the schedule, but it didn't stop the team from making some news.

The Toronto Blue Jays today announced that they have signed RHP Miguel Batista to a minor league contract. Batista will join the Bisons pitching staff in the next couple of days.
