Meet the 2014 New York State Golden Gloves Champs - Story

The finals of the Golden Gloves championships for New York State were held Saturday April 26th at the Tralf in downtown Buffalo. The sub-novice (0-2 fights), novice (less than 11 fights) boxers became State champions in their weight classes. The open champions will now head to Las Vegas during the week of May 12th representing the Buffalo franchise to vie for national titles. The tournament resurrected in Buffalo by Niagara District Vice President Don Patterson and sponsored by Joe Carubba of Carubba Collision has grown every year and this addition may have been the best yet.

NYS Golden Gloves completes second round. - Story

The second of four rounds of the New York State Golden Gloves was held February 22nd. Nineteen bouts went off with one boxer advancing by walk-over. The winners advance to the semi-final round which will be held Friday March 21st.

Kats Sweep Hudson Valley CC, Advance to Region III Semifinals - Press Release

WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. - May 11 - Sophomore Brian Barry (Derby, N.Y./Lake Shore) led the Erie Community College baseball team to wins of 7-3 and 13-3 over Hudson Valley CC Saturday in the opening round of the Region III Tournament. Barry homered in each game and scattered six hits to pick up the win in the nightcap. ECC advances to the Region III Tournament semifinals this coming weekend in Little Falls, N.Y. ECC's opponent is yet to be determined.

WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. - May 11 - Sophomore Brian Barry (Derby, N.Y./Lake Shore) doubled, homered and drove in three runs while freshman pitcher Michael Schnurr (Waterloo, Ont./St. David's) improved to 8-0 as the Erie Community College baseball team picked up a 7-3 win over Hudson Valley CC Saturday afternoon in the opening round of the Region III Tournament. Game two of the best-of-three series is yet to be played at the ECC north campus diamond.

 WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. - May 9 - The Erie Community College baseball team will face Hudson Valley CC in the first round of the Region III Tournament. The teams will play a best-of-three series. Game one is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday on the diamond at the ECC north campus. Game two will follow. A third game, if needed, will be held Sunday.
The series is a matchup of the 2012 opening round. ECC scored seven runs in the first inning on its way to a 16-1 win in the opener and then saw All-America pitcher Mike Wagner strike out 17 in a 3-2 win.
