Will T.J. Graham Contribute In His Rookie Season? - Blog

Posted by StrawMR on July 8, 2012 - 1:16pm

He's been called a better version of Roscoe Parrish, but does that mean T.J. Graham will be a play maker for the Buffalo Bills in 2012?

The Bills' 2012 third round draft pick, Graham has had his share of backers and detractors. From having explosive speed and the ability to make defenders miss to his oft-questioned hands, there is a lot about Graham's game that makes people talk. But the biggest part of his game that's been talked about has been will he be able to improve his route running.

It's time for the NHL to end long-term contracts - Blog

Posted by Michael Straw on July 3, 2012 - 6:28pm

July 1 is viewed by many as the best day of the hockey year.

It's the beginning of free agency. You know, that time when teams are awarded the Stanley Cup based on the money they've spent to bring in, and likely overpay, players. However, this year was much different. On a day dubbed "Free Agent Frenzy", July 1 was more lull and dull than any other in recent history.

So There's Going To Be A Bills Movie? - Blog

The Buffalo Bills are hitting the silver screen! Well, sort of.

The NHL Awards needs a bit of a revamp - Blog

Posted by Michael Straw on June 20, 2012 - 6:43pm

On Wednesday night the 2012 NHL awards took place, and while I was watching them I realized how stale the awards show has become.

Before traditionalists come after me for bashing the classic awards like the Hart, Norris, Jack Adams, I want to let you know that that's not what I'm doing with this post. I'm not suggesting we take away anything, I want to add.

If the NHL is going to put on a two-hour award show, then why not add some fun awards to the mix that fans can vote for.

With New Bills Lease Reportedly Close, It’s Time To Think About What Needs To Be In It - Blog

Posted by Michael Straw on June 14, 2012 - 8:35pm

“About a month-and-a-half.”

That was the last thing Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz told WGRZ-TV about when the public should hear that a new lease agreement has been reached. Now, with no doubt in my mind that a new lease will be reached, it’s time to start looking into what should be in the new lease.

The first thing needed is a steep relocation fee.

Why the Bills should sign Levitre before Byrd - Blog

Posted by Michael Straw on June 14, 2012 - 7:39pm

Buffalo Bills’ left guard Andy Levitre has been told that there have been some preliminary talks regarding a contract extension, according to WGR 550′s Joe Buscaglia.

Speaking with Buscaglia after practice, Levitre stated,

“There have been some small talks, but I don’t know how far along anything is,” he remarked. “I don’t know if they’re just getting started or what not. There hasn’t been any numbers thrown around or anything like that, so maybe just getting started.”

Buffalo: It's nice to have hope again - Blog

Posted by Michael Straw on June 14, 2012 - 3:17pm

Finally a reason to have hope in Buffalo

1999. That was the last year there were any serious expectations for a Buffalo Bills team going into a season.
The team was coming off a Wild Card round loss against the rival Dolphins and had expectations to not only get back to the postseason, but make a run.

Fast forward 13 years.

Buffalo hasn't made the playoffs since that 1999 season. Hell, they haven't even had a reason to be excited about the team since 2002 when they acquired Drew Bledsoe.

Prospect Breakdown: Branden Gaunce - Blog

Posted by Michael Straw on June 11, 2012 - 11:10pm

Brendan Gaunce has all the makings of an elite NHL prospect. The top offensive player for the Belleville Bulls, Gaunce is a big-bodied, powerful center who knows how to put the puck in the net. He has excellent vision on the ice and his skating ability is better than most of the “big men” available in this year’s draft. He also has a cannon of a shot.

Prospect Breakdown: Radek Faksa - Blog

Posted by Michael Straw on June 7, 2012 - 4:55pm

The NHL Draft is fast approaching and the Buffalo Sabres have a plethora of picks, including two in the first round. A player that the Sabres could very well be targeting is Kitchener Ranger center Radek Faksa.

Born in Opava, Czech Republic, Faksa came over to the Rangers by way of the 2011 CHL Import Draft and had an immediate impact with the Rangers. So much so that head coach Steve Spott considers Faksa another Gabriel Landeskog. That’s high praise for a guy who’s only been in the league for one season.

Erik Pears had minor surgery - Blog

Posted by Michael Straw on June 5, 2012 - 4:35pm

Buffalo Bills right tackle Erik Pears hasn't been participating in Bills OTAs since they began last Monday.  Today, a reason was finally given for his absence.

Coach Chan Gailey said in his Tuesday press conference that Pears had minor surgery during the offseason and would be out until training camp. Gailey wouldn't go into any more details saying he'll let Pears disclose that if he so chooses.
