Orchard Park, NY—The Buffalo Bills today named Tom Gibbons Director of Pro Personnel and Chuck Cook Director of College Scouting, as announced by Executive Vice President/General Manager Buddy Nix.
Gibbons re-joins the Bills after spending the previous seven years with the San Diego Chargers as a college scout. Gibbons, a native of Dunkirk, NY, entered the NFL ranks with the Bills in 1992, before being elevated to College and Pro Scout from 1995-2003.

KOSICE, Slovakia – Cam Fowler (Farmington Hills, Mich./Anaheim Ducks) and Blake Wheeler (Robbinsdale, Minn./Atlanta Thrashers/University of Minnesota) each notched a goal, but the U.S. Men's National Team fell to Sweden, 6-2, here tonight in its final preliminary-round game of the 2011 International Ice Hockey Federation World Men's Championship.

Team USA takes a 2-0-0-1 (W-OTW-OTL-L) record into the qualification round, where it will face Canada on Friday (May 6) at 10:15 a.m. EDT.

The Buffalo Bills devoted the early rounds of the 2011 NFL Draft to defense.
With the third overall pick, Buffalo took Alabama defensive tackle Marcell Dareus.  The 320 pounder was defensive MVP of the BCS championship game in 2009, when 'bama won the national title.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - USA Hockey today announced that goaltender Jack Campbell (Port Huron, Mich./Windsor Spitfires) and forward Paul Gaustad (Fargo, N.D./Buffalo Sabres) have been added to the 2011 U.S. Men's National Team that will compete at the International Ice Hockey Federation World Men's Championship, April 29 - May 15, in Kosice and Bratislava, Slovakia.

Buffalo gave me a sure bet. They said if I’m at three they’re going to select me. I didn’t believe them, but they made a believer out of me.
On how he feels as being seen as an answer to Buffalo’s run defense:
I accept it with open arms. They want to stop the run then I have to stop the run. I have to do everything in my power to make it happen.

The move yesterday by MLB to take over the Dodger's was for the "betterment of the franchise, the fans and baseball". Frank McCourt, 50% owner with his ex or soon to be ex the other 50% owner, claims the team's financial and operating condition is within the MLB guidelines for the franchise. 
The Mets, who borrowed $25 mil. from MLB in Oct., is currently not within the MLB franchise operating guidelines and in need of cash now for liquidity/operating purposes, hence the recent offer to sell a portion of the team.

     HSBC Arena Wednesday April 20, 2011. The Buffalo Sabres behind the flawless goaltending of Ryan Miller tied their Eastern Conference quarterfinals playoff series with the Philadelphia Flyers with a 1-0 victory.
     Following an opening surge of eight minutes where the Sabres forced the play, the remainder of the game was predominately carried by the Flyres who peppered Miller with 32 shots to no avail.
