I've covered All Star Games, World Series games, and Super Bowls.  It's an honor and a privilege to cover the elite events in sports, and, once that credential goes around my neck, I'm very careful not to do anything to give anyone a reason to take it away from me. 
Except for one thing.  If I happen to see federal law being broken, I'm probably going to speak up.
Today, after the Masters, sportswriter Tara Sullivan was part of a group of about a dozen other reporters who lined up to enter the players' clubhouse to conduct interviews.

DRESDEN, Germany – Rocco Grimaldi (Rossmoor, Calif.) netted Team USA's lone goal as the U.S. Men's National Under-18 Team fell to Canada, 2-1, in its first of two pre-tournament games leading up to the 2011 International Ice Hockey Federation World Men's Under-18 Championship, which runs from April 14-24, in Crimmitschau and Dresden, Germany.

Canada opened the scoring just 39 seconds into the second period, but Team USA responded when Seth Jones (Plano, Texas) connected with Grimaldi for the score.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Greg Cronin, Phil Housley, and Barry Smith will serve as assistant coaches for the 2011 U.S. Men's National Team that will compete in the International Ice Hockey Federation World Men's Championship, April 29 - May 15 in Kosice and Bratislava, Slovakia, it was announced today by USA Hockey.

As previously announced, Scott Gordon will serve as head coach of the squad.

It’s the opening week of baseball season, bringing with it the annual sense of energy and hope in every major league city.
 
Well, in some major league cities.
 
While the eternal optimists would have us believe that fans of all MLB teams enter April with hopes that perhaps this could be the year, yes even fans of woebegone franchises in Pittsburgh and Kansas City, attendance numbers tell another story.
