2011 Buffalo Boxing Hall of Fame

Buffalo Veteran Boxers Association Ring 44 announces 2011 Buffalo Boxing Hall of Fame inductees.

Buffalo, July 5 - The four new Hall of Fame members are:
“Baby” Joe Mesi: Joe Mesi reached the number one rankings in the heavyweight division by the WBC in 2003. Mesi was on the way to a championship match when an injury forced him out of boxing for two years. He returned and won seven fights before hanging up the gloves. He finished with a record of 36-0 including 29 knockouts.

Alan “Ponyboy” Kemp: The popular Kemp won three Golden Gloves titles and competed in two National Golden Gloves tournaments, all while juggling a job and his courses at Canisius College in the 1960s. Kemp won his first 12 professional contests before losing his final two. He currently trains boxers in California.
Harry Fuller: Harry Fuller of Niagara Falls was a middleweight from 1925-1934 and had a career record of 66-18-11. He fought many of the top middleweights and light heavyweights of his era including, Lou Scozza, Maxie Rosenbloom, George Nichols and Jack McVey. Fuller passed away in 1966.
Dick Loadman: Dick Loadman was a bantamweight and featherweight from 1912 to 1923 and had a record of 77-78-35. Loadman as born in Pennsylvania but settled in Lockport, N.Y. Loadman was a very tough fighter and was only stopped once in his 190 bouts. He had his chance for the bantamweight title in 1916 but lost a no decision battle to champion Kid Williams at the Broadway Auditorium.
