Bulls Dominate UMass in Season Finale - Press Release

 AMHERST, MA – The State University of New York, Buffalo football team ended the season in style with a dominant, 41-21, win over Massachusetts at McGuirk Stadium on Friday afternoon. The Bulls rolled up 548 yards of total offense, paced by Anthone Taylor's career-high 237 yards rushing and two touchdowns.
"It's a special win. I can't describe it. It means so much to me," interim head coach Alex Wood said. "It was fun to see our seniors go out as winners."

 University at Buffalo football head coach Jeff Quinn has announced his initial signees for the 2014 recruiting class on the first day of the National Signing Period. The 21-member class is Quinn's largest in his five years at Buffalo.

Kats Work at Habitat for Humanity Project - Press Release

BUFFALO, N.Y. - March 23 - Approximately 12 members and two coaches of the Erie Community College football team spent part of their day Saturday working for Habitat for Humanity at a house in Buffalo.
The Kats and coaches did a variety of projects at the house such as removing concrete and rocks from behind the house, mixing concrete for a basement wall and cutting lumber for various interior projects.
Saturday's work marked the second-straight year the ECC football team has worked at a Habitat for Humanity project.

BUFFALO, N.Y. – March 11 – Erie Community College athletics director Peter Jerebko announced the Kats’ football program will immediately leave the Northeast Football Conference and the department will drop swimming and diving from its list of programs.

Coney Named to NJCAA All-America Team - Press Release

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. - Dec. 12 - Erie Community College freshman linebacker Devin Coney was an honorable mention selection to the NJCAA All-America Football Team today.
Coney (New Orleans, La./Independence) led ECC with 67 tackles, including six for loss. In November, he was a first-team selection to the All-Northeast Football Conference team and was also chosen as the Region III Defensive Player of the Year. Coney recorded 14 tackles against Lackawanna on Oct. 16 to tie the ECC single-game record and his 42 assisted tackles rank fourth on the all-time charts.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. - Nov. 15 - The Erie Community College football team had 10 players named to the All-Region III team, announced today. The Kats' Jacob Wims, Devin Coney and Tyler Blackburn were named the region's player of the year for their respective units. ECC won the 2012 Region III title, its eighth overall and seventh in the past eight seasons.

ECC/Monroe Football Game Canceled - Press Release

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. - Oct. 31 - Due to the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, Sunday's football game between Erie Community College and Monroe College has been canceled. The game was to be played at noon Sunday at Reinhart Field in Bronx, N.Y. Reinhart Field is on the SUNY Maritime campus at the base of the Throgs Neck Bridge.
ECC finishes the 2012 season with a 2-6 overall record. 

Kats Suffer 24-10 Loss at No. 7 ASA - Press Release

BROOKLYN, N.Y. - No. 7 ASA used two second-half touchdowns to record a 24-10 win over the Erie Community College football team Saturday afternoon at Old Boys High Field in Northeast Football Conference action. ASA improves to 8-0 with the win while the Kats are now 2-6.

ECC's Wims Named NEFC Offensive Player of the Week - Press Release

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. - Oct. 15 - Erie Community College freshman running back Jacob Wims (Rochester, N.Y./John Marshall) was named the Northeast Football Conference Offensive Player of the Week today by the league.
The 5-foot-10, 190-pound Wims ran for a career-high 210 yards in the Kats’ 33-32 loss at Dean College Oct. 13. Wims had a 79-yard touchdown run, the third-longest run in ECC history, that gave the Kats a 26-21 lead at the time. The 210 rushing yards are the third most in a single game at ECC. Wims also caught one pass for 32 yards.
