SANBORN, N.Y. - April 4 - The Erie Community College softball team suffered a pair of Region III losses Thursday afternoon, falling 10-2 and 16-8 to Niagara County CC.
Freshman Kelsey Grosch (Depew, N.Y./Depew) recorded a double in each contest. She drove in two runs during the Kats' seven-run fourth inning outburst in the nightcap. Freshman Marissa Kazmierczak (West Seneca, N.Y./West Seneca West) had two hits in game two, including a two-run double in the fourth.

 WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. - April 4 - The Erie Community College baseball team scored a run in both the sixth and seventh innings as the Kats recorded a 3-2 win over Alfred State College Thursday afternoon in the opener of the Region III doubleheader at the ECC North Campus. The Kats used seven-run sixth inning to pick up an 11-2 win in the nightcap to sweep the Pioneers and improve to 11-10 overall.

WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. - March 30 - Freshman outfielder Kathleen Ruggiero (Williamsville, N.Y./Sacred Heart) collected four hits as the Erie Community College softball team split a doubleheader against Genesee CC Saturday. Ruggiero had a pair of doubles as Genesee CC won the opener, 13-4. She singled and homered as ECC picked up a 9-3 in game two. Ruggiero's homer, a solo shot, came in the Kats' three-run fourth inning as they built a 6-1 lead.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - March 30 - The Erie Community College baseball team recorded four hits in losing a non-conference doubleheader, 8-0 and 7-0, to Monroe CC Saturday. ECC is now 9-10 overall.
The Kats are scheduled to play Alfred State College in Region III action in a 2 p.m. Tuesday doubleheader.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. - The Erie Community College lacrosse team, the nation's ninth-ranked team, had two stretches of scoring six unanswered goals in the first half as the Kats improved to 2-1 overall with a 21-4 win over Genesee CC Saturday at Jim Ball Stadium. ECC opened the game with six-straight goals before GCC got on the board. The Kats then scored the next six goals, in a seven-minute stretch, for a commanding 12-1 lead.

ARNOLD, Md. - March 24 - The Erie Community College baseball team only scored in three innings of Sunday's doubleheader against Anne Arundel CC but the Kats scored enough to record wins of 6-3 and 10-1. ECC pitchers Ian Walsh (Wayne, N.Y./Wayne) and Cody Alessi (Trinity, Fla./Eastlake) each threw six scoreless innings as the Kats improved to 9-8 on the season.

Kats Work at Habitat for Humanity Project - Press Release

BUFFALO, N.Y. - March 23 - Approximately 12 members and two coaches of the Erie Community College football team spent part of their day Saturday working for Habitat for Humanity at a house in Buffalo.
The Kats and coaches did a variety of projects at the house such as removing concrete and rocks from behind the house, mixing concrete for a basement wall and cutting lumber for various interior projects.
Saturday's work marked the second-straight year the ECC football team has worked at a Habitat for Humanity project.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - March 23 - The Erie Community College lacrosse team got a total of 11 goals from freshmen Amanda Patrone (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg) and Jackie Hill (Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster) as the Kats picked up a 17-10 win over CCBC Catonsville Saturday.

Five Kats Named to NCBCA Academic Team - Press Release

BUFFALO, N.Y. - March 22 - Five Members of the Erie Community College women's bowling team were recently named to the National Collegiate Bowling Coaches Association (NCBCA) Academic All-America team. Earlier this month, the Kats won the NJCAA National Bowling Invitational Championship, the program's 28th national title, at the Thruway Lanes in Cheektowaga. To be on the team, bowlers needed to have a 3.5-or-higher grade-point average.
