Jr. welterweight Felix Mercedes of Buffalo improved to 11-0 Saturday night in Yucatan, Mexico. Felix scored his sixth straight knockout in the last seven months for a total of nine KO's in his eleven wins.Mercedes who is trained by Juan Deleon is looking forward to fighting in Buffalo in the near future.

Welterweight Vincent Arroyo (11-1) of Williamsville scored his biggest professional boxing win Friday night as he won a majority decision over previous unbeaten Willie Nelson (16-1-1) of Ohio. The scores in the eight-round contest were 75-73, 75-73 and 74-74. Vincent was deducted a point by the referee for a dubious holding call in the third round but he got the point back and then some with a terrific left hook that downed Nelson. Nelson had a distinctive seven inch height advantage and that helped him win some rounds leading into the sixth.

Light welterweight Felix Mercedes of Buffalo, NY improved to 10-0 with his 8th stoppage last Saturday in the Dominican Republic. Mercedes has a string of five straight knockout wins in the last six months.
