Golf outing to benefit the Hospice Foundation - Blog

Individual golfers, foursomes and sponsors are still being sought for the annual “Come Get Some” golf outing to benefit the Hospice Foundation. The event will take place on Friday, July 12, at Chestnut Hill Country Club, 1330 Broadway, Darien Center.
 
Registration for the event is just $80 and includes lunch, a steak dinner, beverages and 18 holes of scramble-format golf. Tickets for dinner only are available for just $40. Golfers of all skill levels are welcomed.
 

14 Holy Helpers plans golf outing on September 14 - Blog

Golfers and sponsors are still being recruited for the annual 14 Holy Helpers Home School Association Golf Outing taking place on Friday, Sept. 14, at Chestnut Hill Country Club, 1330 Broadway, Darien Center.
Registration will begin at 10 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 11 a.m. The golf outing will feature a scramble format and there will be a split club raffle, door prizes, contests, a live auction and more.

 Locust Hill Country Club showed its presence during this year’s Wegmans LPGA Championship, making it one of the hardest courses these terrific athletes had to endure. To add to the already tight fairways, tall rough, and harder pin placements, Mother Nature added her likes to the festivities as well. By adding length to the already long Par 72, 6530 yard course. For the most part, she held off during play but let herself be known before the tournament with golf ball size hail, as well as throughout the four day event during the night hours.

 The 55th Junior/Boys and 48th Girls Amateur Championships are 36-hole events, and to win, every player understands it takes great play from the 1st to the 36th. And yes, Nicole Morales needs to play 18 more strong holes to win her first Girls Championship – but she made quite the statement with her first 18.

 This year’s Wegmans LPGA Championship was met with some wicked weather, but nothing compared to the thunder that Yani Tseng brought to the tournament. Many never thought they’d see the course record broken two years in a row, but fans nearly saw just that – Yani Tseng kept that dream going as she continued to increase her outstanding lead in the final round Sunday, resulting in an overall 19 under finish, tying Christie Kerr’s course record breaker from just the year before.

On June19th Father's Day I took a short trip from my home down the block to see for myself the way golfers celebrate Father's Day.
