Scott Brown, Spokesman: FLIPPIN’ IDIOT! - Blog

Posted by PaulMcCarthy on December 29, 2011 - 3:25pm

Hundreds of Winnipeg hockey fans have signed an online petition to install metal troughs, instead of individual urinals, at the home of the Jets. Male Jets fans complain that they have to spend too much time between periods to pee and risk missing some of the action. John Gibson, Team USA: FLIPPIN’ IDIOT! - Blog

Posted by Paul McCarthy on December 29, 2011 - 1:01pm

Group play in the World Junior Hockey Championship began this week for the USA with an 11-3 defeat of Denmark. Their next opponent, on Wednesday, was a Finland team that lost its first game to Canada, 8-1. Surprisingly, the Americans were down 1-0 after two periods. But in the third they regained their momentum with a goal to tie the game. Team USA was then on the power play when goaltender, John Gibson, committed a foolish interference penalty. In the ensuing 4-on-4 situation, Joel Armia - the Sabres top 2011 draft pick, incidentally - scored a goal.

On Wednesday night the Sabres lost to the Devils, in New Jersey, 3-1. Following an impressive 4-2 to win over the Capitals on Monday, the Sabres were sloppy on both ends of the ice. With his team down 2-0 in the second period, Andrej Sekera - who has more career give-aways than Santa Claus - gave up the puck in his own end. New Jersey's Petr Sykora then took a pass from Patrik Elias and scored his second goal of the game.
