Changes to WGR a big step in the right direction - Blog

Monday and Tuesday were big days for Buffalo's sports radio station, WGR550 AM.

On Monday, it was announced that the Buffalo Sabres and Entercom, the company that owns WGR, have agreed on a deal that will see a two-hour daily show from 10am-12pm titled "Sabres Hockey Hotline". The show will replace the oft-criticized Colin Cowherd, or as it was called by someone, "The LeBron Show."

 WBBZ-TV owner Phil Arno today announced that Niagara Falls native Bob Koshinski has been named Vice President/ General Manger of the station. “Bob previously served in this capacity with the popular Empire Sports Network and in just three months with WBBZ he has shown an ability to see the big picture as well as manage the day to day duties,” said Arno. “This is a very exciting time for WBBZ and we will have several other very significant announcements regarding the direction and future of the station in the upcoming weeks,” added Arno.

 University at Buffalo coaches and athletes will be participating in a Black History Month Program at Martin Luther King School in Buffalo. Men's basketball assistant coach Turner Battle along with players Jarod Oldham, Corey Raley-Ross and Auraum Nuiriank as well as Steven Means of the football team will be speaking at an assembly of 240 6th, 7th and 8th graders.
The assembly will take place on Thursday, February 16 from 9-10 am at Martin Luther King School (487 High Street, Buffalo).

This is the ultimate honor possible to be bestowed on a Billiard Player. Danny has many accomplishments including numerous world championships and is in the One Pocket Hall of Fame.
