BUFFALO, N.Y. (August 25, 2011) -- The Buffalo Sabres will start the 2011-2012 season with a brand new name for the National Hockey League team’s home: First Niagara Center.

 BUFFALO, NY (July 21, 2011) - Buffalo Sabres GM Darcy Regier today announced that goaltender Jhonas Enroth has agreed to a multi-year contract.

Enroth (5'10", 166 lbs., 6/25/1988) appeared in 14 games during five separate recalls for the Sabres last season, compiling a 2.73 goals against average and a 9-2-2 record. He recorded his first NHL win and first career shutout in 2010-11 after appearing in just one game during the 2009-10 season.

 CHICAGO - Niagara men's hockey alum Paul Zanette ('11) will be taking part in the 2011 Chicago Blackhawks Prospect Camp, running from July 7-11. Zanette is attending the camp after recently signing a one-year deal with Chicago's American Hockey League team, the Rockford Icehogs.
Zanette had a career senior season for the Purple Eagles. The Nobleton, Ont. native scored a career-high 29 goals, 26 assists and 55 points; the 55-point total ties Joe Tallari (’04) for most points in a single-season by a Niagara player.

 BUFFALO, NY (July 4, 2011) – Buffalo Sabres GM Darcy Regier announced today the Sabres have re-signed defenseman Mike Weber to a multi-year contract.
Weber (12/16/1987, 6’2”, 211 lbs.) played a career-high 58 games this season, and led all Sabres in hits with 158. The 23-year-old Weber also posted career highs in goals (4), assists (13) and points (17), giving him 20 points in 81 career NHL games with Buffalo. Weber played in all seven games of Buffalo’s first-round playoff series against Philadelphia, and was third on the team with 17 hits.

BUFFALO, NY (June 29, 2011) – Buffalo Sabres GM Darcy Regier announced today the Sabres have agreed to terms on a multi-year contract with forward Nathan Gerbe.

Gerbe (5’5”, 178 lbs., 7/24/1987) scored 31 points (16+15) in 64 games for the Sabres last season, including 15 goals in Buffalo’s final 40 games. The 23-year-old native of Oxford, Michigan, set a new Sabres franchise record for fastest two goals by one player when he scored two goals just five seconds apart on January 21 against the New York Islanders.

 The Buffalo Sabres have signed a purchase agreement with the Rochester Americans hockey club. The AHL Board of Governors unanimously approved the transaction earlier today. The Sabres also announced their affiliation agreement with the Portland Pirates has ended.
The Buffalo Sabres will have no further comment at this time. The Sabres expect to hold a press conference in Rochester next week to set forth their plans for the franchise.

Do they sign the big name center to anchor their top line? Will they look to trade assets for that center?    Do they sign the big name defenseman to pair alongside Tyler Myers? Will new ownership buy certain players out? So many questions are in the minds of Buffalo Sabres’ fans as we approach the July 1st free agent period. These are questions that in recent years have already been answered before the free agent period even arrives.

 BUFFALO, NY (June 16, 2011) – Buffalo Sabres President Ted Black announced today that Kevin Sylvester and Danny Gare will fill in for the broadcast team of Rick Jeanneret and Harry Neale during the games they will miss with their new reduced schedule. Jeanneret and Neale will only work home games and a reduced road schedule of approximately 10-15 games.
