     A different player steps up for Buffalo in every game and this night it was Thomas Vanek scoring three goals in a 4-2 victory. Tampa jumped to a 1-0 lead but Vanek tied the game deflecting home a one timer point shot fro Jason Pominville while the Sabres had a two man power play advantage.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (April 5, 2011) --- More than 75 Sabres Alumni have already confirmed their attendance for this Friday’s Fan Appreciation Night, a series of events surrounding the team’s final regular season home game on Friday, April 8 against the Philadelphia Flyers. Game time is 7:30 p.m., and fans are asked to be in their seats by 7:15 p.m. to enjoy the on-ice festivities. All fans attending the game will also receive a commemorative “7th Man” rally towel.

     Jhonas Enroth delivered a huge performance stopping 35 of 36 shots as the Sabres earned their most important win of the season, 2-1in overtime on the road against the Carolina Hurricanes. Both teams played strong games but the Sabres penalty killers shut down all six 'Canes power plays and Enroth delivered a tremendous goaltending performance.

 Buffalo’s dramatic 1-0 win over the New York Rangers last night continued the team’s push for a playoff position, and was also the most-watched Sabres game in more than two years on MSG. The game averaged a 10.3 rating and 15 share locally, surpassing this season’s previous high of 9.1/15 set last Saturday against New Jersey. Last night’s game actually peaked at 13.7/19 between 9:15-9:30 p.m.

Springfield, MA – Portland Pirates forward Mark Mancari and defenseman Marc-Andre Gragnani were two of six players announced today by the American Hockey League as members of the 2010-11 AHL All-Star First Team as voted by AHL coaches, players and media in each of the league’s 30 member cities.

With franchise goalie Ryan Miller sidelined with an upper body injury, Jhonas Enroth was inserted into the lineup and came through in a big way with 23 saves for his first NHL shutout against the NHL's hottest team, the New York Rangers (8-1-1 in their last 10 games).
 
The game had a tense playoff like atmosphere and the Sabres dominated early with a 12-2 shots advantage past the midpoint of the first period. Then  the Rangers forecheck took over pinning Buffalo in it's own end for extended periods.

The Sabres never led in this game, as the Leafs twice built two goal leads, 2-0 and 3-1. only to see the Sabres tie the game both times at 2-2 and 3-3. Ryan Miller did not have his best game and was beaten from the blueline by a Dion Phaneuf slapshot for the games opening goal. After earning the NHL star of the week by allowing only two goals in three games, Miller gave up four to the Leafs on 35 shots. The Sabres had 31 shots on Toronto Goalie James Riemer.

 An early first period goal by Nathan Gerbe, hotter than a firecracker with seven goals in his last nine games, and shutout goaltending by Ryan Miller were all the Sabres needed in a 2-0 victory over the New Jersey Devils Saturday night at HSBC Arena in Buffalo. Another first period score by Thomas Vanek, his first in five games gave the Sabes some breathing room
