Tom Golisano was a fantastic steward for the Sabres. He guided them through a change in ownership, stood by his coach and GM when people were giving them a hard time and while seeing some players pack their bags, helped maintain a core from which to build for year's to come. What he did not do was open up his checkbook and make acquisitions like Brad Boyes.

It's a grind it out league and you've got to grind it out every night. So Ryan Miller has said many times in the past and Friday night's  Sabres game was an example. After a lackluster first period with the score tied 1-1, the Sabres put in two quick goals in 13 seconds in period two for a 3-1 lead.. The score was 4-1 when Florida scored a late goal near the end of the game.
