Posted by George Kuhn on February 28, 2011 - 12:25am

The Buffalo Sabres acquired forward Brad Boyes from the St. Louis Blues late Sunday for a second round draft choice. Boyes has had a hot stick lately with 15 points in his last 15 games. He has had seasons scoring 43 goals in 2007-08 and 33 goals 2008-09, but had only 14 goals last season and 12 so far this season. His 43 goal season saw him scoring on 20.8% of his shots, and 15.0% in his 33 goal year. But his shooting percentage has been a rather pedestrian 7.1% and 9.3% over his last two sub20 goal seasons.
