 The President’s Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition Community Leadership Award presentation for Mary Wilson.
· Award to be presented by United Way of Buffalo and Erie County President Michael Weiner during Western New York Girls in Sports program.
· The Buffalo Bills rely on the support of community partners to help the Western New York Girls in Sports program remain successful, including the United Way of Buffalo and Erie County.

Mary Queen of Angels School receives grant from Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame - Blog

Mary Queen of Angels Regional Catholic School in Cheektowaga was recently named a recipient of a 2012 Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame Amateur Sports Development Fund (ASDF) grant. The grant will be used to purchase new cheerleading uniforms for the 2012-13 school year.

Annunciation School in Elma was recently named a recipient of a 2012 Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame Amateur Sports Development Fund (ASDF) grant. The grant was used to introduce a new soccer team at the school, located at 7580 Clinton St.
This is the second year in a row that the school has received a grant from the ASDF. Annunciation used last year’s grant to offer a new softball program.

MQA students earn track medals at championship meet - Blog

Seven students from Mary Queen of Angels Regional Catholic School in Cheektowaga earned medals at the 2012 Southtowns Invitational Track Association Msgr. Holbel Division League Championship track meet held May 21 at St. Francis High School.
Among the medal winners from MQA were: Alexis Alvira, 11 and under dash; Darnell Dallas, 8 and under dash; Thatheona Padilla, 9 and under dash and 10 and under relay; Madison Zdzinski, 9 and under softball throw; Kaitlyn Riley, 10 and under relay; McKenzi Alvira, 10 and under relay; and Courtney Ando, 10 and under relay.

Fennville's Wes Leonard remembered. - Blog

I sat down this morning with the intent of writing about the NBA playoffs. ESPN’s Outside the Lines is on. They are airing a follow up to the story of Wes Leonard, the Fennville High basketball player who collapsed and died on the court in early March.  Now I’m bawling like a baby and can’t even think about the NBA.

I wrote about this shortly after it happened. I hope you’ll indulge my replay.
