Mock NBA Draft 2014

One of my favorite nights of the year is upon. The NBA 2014 Draft is about to commence! Who will go #1 overall? Where will Joel Embiid now go after his latest injury? Who will take a chance on the kid from down under Dante Exum? Where will PJ Hairston go after starring at UNC 2 years ago then being kicked out of school and forced to play in the D-League this year? Will that professional experience help or hurt his case? How far does the potential #1 pick of last year’s NBA Draft, Marcus Smart fall? Will he regret not going pro last year in the same way ex-USC QB Matt Barkley I am sure feels after not declaring for the NFL draft after his junior season? So many questions are to be asked but by 11pm EST tonight all questions will be answered! These kids are going to be fulfilling a life-long dream of theirs tonight by getting to the NBA and I am happy for all soon to be NBA players.
Below is my mock draft for the top 10 for the draft tonight. These projections are based on teams need, value at that spot but most importantly NOT 100% of what the major media outlets are saying who the pick is going to be (as in the case of the Charlotte Hornets local radio mentioning time and time again the Hornets have hosted Doug McDermott, multiple times and only hosting the player who I think they should select one time so they must be picking McDermott. That may be true but I want to think outside the box). Let me know your thoughts!
1. Cleveland Cavilers-SF Andrew Wiggins (I think a trade will seriously be considered)
2. Milwaukee Bucks-SF Jabari Parker
3. Philadelphia 76ers-PF Aaron Gordon
4. Orlando Magic-PG Dante Exum
5. Utah Jazz-C Joel Embiid
6. Boston Celtics-PF Julius Randle
7. Los Angeles Lakers-PG Marcus Smart
8. Sacramento Kings- PF Noah Vonleh
9. Charlotte Hornets-SG James Young
10. Philadelphia 76ers-SG Gary Harris
Players not in my top 10 who will be future NBA stars is the aforementioned SG PJ Hairston as well as a kid who has that killer instinct that is rare who came into the national scene for most NCAA basketball fans late last year, SF CleAnthony Early. I hate to wish bad on anyone so I won’t but the one player who I see that will not live up to his high draft status in 5 years is PF Noah Vonleh. Especially if my mock draft holds true and he goes where dreams go to die AKA Sacramento!
Join the fun and tell me how great or how sorry my mock draft top ten is. I would love to hear from you all. Just be wary if you think my mock draft is way off, you’ll be calling me the Prophet by 11pm tonight. #TheFanatic
