WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. - April 21 - The Erie Community College baseball team used a nine-run fourth inning to power itself to a 12-0 win over Corning CC Sunday afternoon in game one of a Region III doubleheader at the ECC north campus. The Kats completed the sweep with a 9-0 in the nightcap and are now 23-12.
In the opener, sophomore Brian Barry (Derby, N.Y./Lake Shore) tossed a one-hitter and struck out nine in addition to collecting two hits at the plate. Barry followed that performance with a two-run single in game two's sixth inning.
WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. - April 18 - The Erie Community College baseball team ran its win streak to four as the Kats rallied to record a 3-2 win in eight innings over Finger Lakes CC in game two of a Region III doubleheader at the ECC north campus diamond. The Kats recorded a 12-1 win in the opener.
Sophomore outfielder Vinny Sherman (North Collins, N.Y./North Collins) recorded a two-out double in the eighth inning before back-to-back walks loaded the bases. Sherman scored the game-winning run on a FLCC error.
CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. - April 16 - Erie Community College baseball coach Joe Bauth won his 800th game Tuesday as the Kats defeated Finger Lakes CC 11-3 in game one of a scheduled doubleheader. Game two was rained out.
Bauth, who is in his 22nd season, is now 800-443-4 and has guided the Kats to 30-win seasons the past two campaigns. He has led ECC to five NJCAA College World Series appearances.
WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. – April 16 – Cody Alessi, a sophomore pitcher on the Erie Community College baseball team, was named the Region III Male Athlete of the Week today by the league office.
Alessi (Trinity, Fla./Eastlake) improved to 5-0 as he pitched a complete game shutout over Jamestown CC this past weekend. He allowed three hits and walked two while striking out eight in ECC's 10-0 win. He has thrown back-to-back shutouts and has allowed only one run in the past 18 innings. He has struck out 18 batters during that stretch.
JAMESTOWN, N.Y. - April 15 - Sophomore Brian Barry (Derby, N.Y./Lake Shore) tossed a one-hitter and had a pair of doubles to lead the Erie Community College baseball team to a 16-1 win over Jamestown CC in the nightcap of Monday's Region III doubleheader. Despite a first-inning grand slam by Barry, JCC used an 11-run third inning to pick up a 17-10 win in the opener.
ECC is now 18-12 on the season. Head coach Joe Bauth has 799 career wins. He'll attempt to win 800 when the Kats play Finger Lakes CC Tuesday afternoon in Canandaigua, N.Y.

Barry added a single and a double in game two as the Kats recorded six extra-base hits while sophomore Cody Alessi (Trinity, Fla./Eastlake) tossed a three-hitter in ECC's 10-0 win to improve to 5-0.
WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. - April 9 - The Erie Community College baseball team scored twice in the first inning but could not plate another run, falling to Onondaga CC 3-2 Tuesday in 17 innings at the ECC north campus diamond. ECC is now 15-11 overall and 6-1 in Region III play.

The Kats then recorded a 13-5 victory in the nightcap to push their win streak to six games. ECC is now 15-10 overall.
DRYDEN, N.Y. - April 6 - Sophomore Ian Walsh (Wayne, N.Y./Wayne) threw a one-hitter and struck out 13 batters as the Erie Community College baseball team recorded an 11-1 win in six innings over Tompkins Cortland CC Saturday afternoon in Region III action. Walsh hit the first batter he faced and then allowed a single before retiring 18-straight hitters. ECC used a five- and a nine-run inning in the nightcap to pick up the sweep with a 16-2 decision. ECC has now won four-straight games and is 13-10 overall.
WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. - April 4 - The Erie Community College baseball team scored a run in both the sixth and seventh innings as the Kats recorded a 3-2 win over Alfred State College Thursday afternoon in the opener of the Region III doubleheader at the ECC North Campus. The Kats used seven-run sixth inning to pick up an 11-2 win in the nightcap to sweep the Pioneers and improve to 11-10 overall.
