SANBORN, N.Y. - April 29 - Sophomore infielder/pitcher Mike Wagner (Williamsville, N.Y./St. Mary's) improved to 5-0 Sunday afternoon as he struck out eight batters to lead the Erie Community College baseball team to a 5-3 win over Niagara County CC in the second game of a doubleheader. NCCC recorded a 9-5 win in the opener.

WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. - April 28 - The Erie Community College baseball team dropped both games of Saturday afternoon's doubleheader against Niagara County Community College at the ECC North Campus. NCCC picked up a 6-3 win in nine innings in game one and then recorded a 3-2 victory in the nightcap. The Kats are now 25-14 overall while NCCC is 25-19-1.

HORNELL, N.Y. - April 26 - Sophomore first baseman Jesse Zellner (Tonawanda, N.Y./Tonawanda) led the Erie Community College baseball team with two hits and three runs batted in as the Kats recorded a 12-4 win over Alfred State Thursday afternoon at the Maple City Park. Game two of the scheduled Region III doubleheader was rained out in the fifth inning, falling just shy of an official game.

Zellner had a two-run double in the seventh inning. ECC scored five runs in both the first and fourth innings.

WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. - April 24 - Erie Community College sophomore pitcher/infielder Mike Wagner was named a Region III Male Athlete of the Week today by the league office.
Wagner, from Williamsville, N.Y./St. Mary's, went 12-21 at the plate in addition to throwing a no-hitter against Broome CC April 19. He struck out 10 batters in that six-inning performance. Wagner, one of the nation's top hitters, is riding an 11-game hit streak. He scored seven runs and drove in three as ECC went 5-1 on the week. The no-hitter was the first at ECC since the 1993 season.

WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. - April 21 - The Erie Community College baseball and softball teams' games this weekend have been cancelled due to the weather.
The ECC softball team, 8-11 this season, was scheduled to play Jamestown CC-Cattaraugus County at 1 p.m. today at the Santo DeSain Field on the ECC North Campus. The Kats are scheduled to be in action Monday against Mercyhurst North East in North East, Pa.

WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. - April 20 - Sophomore pitcher Mike Tolsma (Tonawanda, N.Y./Tonawanda) scattered five hits while pitching a complete game as the Erie Community College baseball team recorded a 13-3 win over Genesee CC Friday afternoon at the ECC North Campus. Genesee snapped ECC's nine-game win streak with an 8-6 victory in the nightcap.
The win was Tolsma's third of the season as the Kats improved to 24-12 overall.

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - April 19 - Sophomore pitcher/infielder Mike Wagner (Williamsville, N.Y./St. Mary's) threw a no-hitter as the Erie Community College baseball team recorded a doubleheader sweep of Broome CC Thursday. ECC won the opener 6-1 and then recorded a 10-0 victory in game two. Wagner struck out 10 and allowed one walk, that coming with two outs in the sixth inning. ECC has now won eight-straight games and is now 23-11 on the season.

WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. - April 17 - The Erie Community College baseball team has now scored 10-or-more runs five times in its past six games as the Kats swept Broome CC Tuesday by scores of 11-1 and 10-3. ECC, which has won six-straight games and is now 21-11, hit three home runs in the opening contest of the Region III twin bill at the ECC North Campus.
